A Coruña, Galicia

Left Gijón just before the full solar eclipse, to see it out at sea, and motored west through the night along the Cantabrian coast, mostly light and fickle airs that kept the engine running for nearly the whole crossing rather than the sail. A long, steady motor rather than a dramatic passage — just watches, coffee, and the coastline sliding by to port in the dark. A swarm of tuna came jumping around the boat overnight, giving us a scare until we worked out it wasn't orcas. Rounded the Torre de Hercules — the old Roman lighthouse still working after some two thousand years — and in past the beaches into A Coruña's harbour.
