Pico del Sol, Asturias

Left the boat on the mooring in Gijón and hitched a ride up to Pico del Sol above La Camocha for the afternoon — a regular launch site for the local club, with a rounded, grassy takeoff at about 430 metres and a clean view straight down to the harbour and the sea beyond.

Light thermic conditions, nothing too rowdy, just enough lift to stretch a fifteen-minute glide out over the meadows before setting down near the road. Good to be off the water and up in the air for a change, even if just for one afternoon.
