How we got here: Along the Pink Granite Coast to Roscoff
Lézardrieux, Brittany → Roscoff, Brittany
Left Lézardrieux in the evening right at high tide, riding the ebb to get carried out of the river and then west along the coast as the tide kept falling. A night sail across to Roscoff, with dolphins joining us along the way, arriving with the very first light of the morning.
What we did here
Roscoff’s old town is all granite houses and a stone church tower right on the waterfront, more used to ferry traffic from Plymouth and Cork than to a single small boat. Île de Batz sits just offshore, a short dinghy ride away, with nothing but a lighthouse and a few farms on it.
Tides here run hard — the marina dries out completely at low water. Getting close to the Chenal du Four and the top of Brittany now, with Biscay waiting beyond it.
Stayed a day in the marina to rest up, then got ready to head out again the next morning.
