How we got here: A Detour to Guernsey
Cherbourg, Normandy → St Peter Port, Guernsey
Fuelled up in the morning and timed the departure to make the most of the tides, including the Alderney Race. A day sail across — mostly sailing, with some motoring — under reasonable wind. Arrived into St Peter Port in the evening.
What we did here
Put on a berth usually reserved for the cruise ship tenders — the only space going for the night. Had a quick dinner after arriving before heading to bed. Had to be up and off again early the next morning: a cruise ship was already standing by outside, waiting to come in.
